Goudkoorts in hampi.

Ze zoeken en vinden aanwijzingen van een rijke geschiedenis,deze instinctieve numismatici;

Hampi.

Waarvoor dank.

For my personal travelguru's Lisa&Simon(2ridetheworld.com)

“Why do you do it?” friends often ask, perplexed,
Brows raised, minds sorely vexed.
‘The world out there is dangerous!
Aren’t you scared? Why do this?
You need steady work, a house, two cars!
You have only a motorbike, and sleep under stars!’

Dear friend, if you must ask, you cannot know
This curiosity that drives me so.
To you it is hidden; in me rises unbidden!
But one day the world I’ll have ridden
By iron steed, then perhaps this need
Will have vanished, finally vanquished!
That day will find me on deathbed,
With no regrets for the life I led.

Will you be able to say the same?
Or will you despair a life worn plain?

I will stake my Himalayan memories
Against your estate of a thousand trees.
Pit my Thai sunset
Against your private jet.
Weigh my horse rides at sunrise
To your Italian suits and ties.
I’ll rejoice in friends before I go,
Not the figures of my stock portfolio.

And, amazingly, there are more like me;
They reject slavery, and are truly free.
They took the chance we all had,
And honestly it makes me sad
That you didn’t
You thought you couldn’t…
What?
Live without the luxuries
Of all modern amenities?
You choose the bonds of mortgage, but claim to be free,
Wasting a lifetime absorbed by TV.
Why watch if? But live it!
Ones life’s all you get!
Don’t put off ‘til morrow and continue to borrow
The lives of strangers; ‘tis the greatest of dangers
To the soul
Which grows old
Before its time.

Hercules, Columbus
Guevara, Odysseus,
Champlain, Agamemnon,
The list goes on…
What have they in common?
Regardless man or god,
The soil of continents the trod,
Not in search of gold but adventure!
Not growing old ‘cause the ventured
Far from safety; but far be it from me
To judge…

The pitiless pity us
With souls black pitted.
Pray! Save it for those less spirited.
For us…our horizons are unlimited.”

Mysore markt.

Peter-Good Times-Roche.

Countless are the numbers of Indian bus -and truckdrivers who live in blissful ignorance, unaware of the gentle Irish soul that saved them and their families from the wrath of a renegade motorcyclist, from my own barehanded strangulations.
On several occasions and in many ways this good man and highly appreciated fellow traveler saved the day...with witty one-liners,a reassuring slap on the back in times of need or a good conversation.
Peter is easygoing, unconcerned and undemanding and when the both of us,at some point in the future, will reminisce about our travels..we'll graciously concur;Good Times, indeed!
It is'nt pointless after all!
Slán abhaile,my friend!

God is a woman!

Long before men,woman-architects of creation- drank from the goblet of wisdom!
In the phantasmagoria of time ,generation after generation of men,great-great-grandfathers and fathers, uncles and cousins, you and me have governed this heavenly body...and what have we got to show for it,brother?
Calamity...Anguish...Torment.Mother Earth in hostile hands!
In the 20 th century 100 000 000 human beings were annihilated by their fellow man through the frenzy of warfare and bloodshed, old men continu to send young men into harms way.Reactionist politics, ecological mayhem, etc. The Patriarch Pandemonium.

A man on the moon, penicillin,Elvis Presley...all admirable achievements, but utterly pointless when on the road towards selfdestruction.Fatalistic nor cynical...these words rather imply an impatient longing for metamorphose.

It is time for a U-turn...the path to enlightenment is awaiting.

The human race needs another renaissance...a feminine revolution,an incessant association with the maternal genes and genius.Girl power versus glass ceilings.Misogyny,gynophobia...crimes against humanity.Exit the bionic man, hail to the totemic woman!Martha Luther king...where areth thou?

These contemplations resurface every time i haphazardly find myself in a predominant female environment...be it the historical guild for Belgian embroidery or the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Kerala.
Mindgames turn into Mindpower.Hocus Focus.Armistice of the war between the sexes.Equanimity;mental or emotional stability or composure, calmness, equilibrium.
In one word:harmony.
Our human tapestry needs spiritual cross-stitching...there's no need for Thomas More's Utopia but the search for more divinity in who we are and what we establish is not at all ambitious...rather a moral imperative(with optional chanting!).

"This is a man's world but it would'nt be nothing...nothing!...without a woman or a girl."(James Brown)

Living the dream!

Je suis jaloux!
Ich bin eifersüchtig!
